The Saeima1 has adopted and the
President has proclaimed the following Law:

On the European Convention on the Elaboration of a European Pharmacopoeia with Amendments Introduced by the Protocol Thereto of 16 November 1989

Section 1.

The Convention on the Elaboration of a European Pharmacopoeia of 22 July 1964 with the amendments introduced by the Protocol thereto of 16 November 1989 (hereinafter - Convention) shall be adopted and approved by this Law.

Section 2.

This Law shall come into force on the date of its proclamation. Together with the Law the Convention in English and its translation in Latvian shall be proclaimed.

Section 3.

The Ministry of Welfare shall co-ordinate the fulfilment of obligations provided for in the Convention.

Section 4.

The Convention shall come into force at the time and in accordance with the procedures prescribed in Article 12 thereof and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs shall notify regarding such coming into force in the newspaper Latvijas Vēstnesis [the official Gazette of the Government of Latvia].

This Law has been adopted by the Saeima on 24 January 2002.
